A couple of weeks ago, something happen at the top of our road. It was The Miss Sixty launch of their summer collection, with a rather fantastic theme of ‘Welcome To The Jungle’. No, nothing really to do with Guns N Roses, more to do with a collection inspired by, well, the jungle. Handily, Miss Sixty asked us to produce the event, which we were more than happy to do as a) my old friends from Diesel - Gaetana and Silvia who now ran Miss Sixty’s global marketing and PR were coming over for the event, and b) it was, as I say, at the top of our road!
As a nice coincidence it also happened to be a good friend of Miss Sixty’s birthday that very same evening. And so it was that the stage was set for a birthday party for international film and TV actress Jenni Baird, and a celebration of the Miss Sixty summer collection.
The night was fantastic. The Flaunt Magazine team (our media partners) were in fine form, as were Jenni and her guests (who all seemed to have a smashing time). In fact, with the exception of the music equipment not working for the first 20 minutes (damn that dodgy serato system, what’s wrong with old fashioned vinyl… apart from the massive inconvenience?) which caused the infinitely patient and wonderful DJ Smiles Davis a few problems at the start, everything went off swimmingly.
The temperature was suitably tropical, partly because of the limited air conditioning, partly because of the sexy models causing a few of the gentlemen visitors to get a bit heated under the collar, and partly because DJ Kelly Cole turned up the heat on the decks.
Then it was time to sing Jenni the happy birthday song, which we did… then we had cake… then back to the bar for one of the delicious cocktails generously provided by Metl Tequila, alongside the rather great, full open bar to the delight of the thirsty fashionistas. Oh, and the canapes from Magnolia were delicious too!
Then it was off to Hyde for the after party, two bottles of Belvedere later (between us of course!) and it was time for home. That’s the benefit of living on Crescent Heights… all of that just happened on our road. 1 minute taxi ride and we were back, swaying in front of the babysitter. Good times.
Thanks to everyone at Miss Sixty, Flaunt, Lee Wallman and her team, the guys at Hyde, and everyone else involved.
